Aesthetics Wiki

Hiraethcore is an aesthetic based on a longing for fictional places, characters, and worlds, imagining fictional scenarios and walking around the world, looking for fantasy. Core is also closely related to the protection of the planet's environment. This aesthetic is connected with The Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter films and books, but it can include basically every fictional place. People who live in Hiraeth the aesthetic, often are maladaptive daydreamers and they can sometimes seems absent, but not always.

"Hiraeth" is a Welsh word that does not have a direct English translation. It was defined by Jenny Colgan in her novel "The Café by the Sea" as "a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home that maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for lost places in your past.”

Colour palette

the person, who live in this aesthetic, probably is a daydreamer, lost in the dreams and memories, but not always. The most important thing is not clothing, or doing some activities- it’s in mind. People, who live in this core are willing to help, smiling in the difficult situations, comforting, and glowing with a good aura. They’re searching for the fantastic, while noticing the beauty of the everyday world. It’s not always easy, but It doesn't count how many times you fall, but how many times you get up. People, who live in this core, can see the beauty in everyone and everywhere. Everyone has this skill, but not everyone takes advantage of it.

Comparison to related aesthetics

  • This core is connected with fictional movies and books, but it mainly circles the longing for fantasy itself
  • This aesthetic isn’t a desire for the past- of course, it’s a part of the memories, which are very important in this aesthetic, but it is first and foremost a desire for a better and lighter future
  • It’s an aesthetic, which is very involved in protecting our planet- it means, that people who decided to live in this aesthetic are aware about that our environment needs help, and they’re trying to spread taking care of our planet
  • The most important thing is, that dress counts, but behavior is more important ~ see more at “key values” paragraph
