Aesthetics Wiki

Gen X Soft Club was a popular aesthetic in late 90's and it's characterized by the urban sign typography, train stations and airports photo set and heavy use of minimalism. It was a more natural version of Y2K aesthetic.

Visuals

In this aesthetic we see a mix of contemporary urban minimalism and lifestyle with Y2K elements, heavy use of lomo effect, bleach bypass and blur technics in photography, nude lipstick, hair parted down the middle or natural textured hair, natural leathers, knee high boots, duster jackets, natural and muted colors - especially greens, beiges, tans, greys, and black in fashion. Also, the 60s to 70s nostalgia played a role on the visuals.

Today, the aesthetic is making a mini comeback with CFCF's recent album Memoryland and Doss LP 4 New Hit Songs, due to the effect of Y2K aesthetic reemergence.
