Boycore is an aesthetic that serves as a masculine equivalent of Tweencore (and by extension Kidcore, which it also has similarities to), focusing on media (e.g. Cartooncore) made for young boys rather than media made for young girls. It can also be seen as a kid version of Bro and Olderbrothercore. As of late, Boycore has begun to die down, with not many masculine-leaning kids shows being made in comparison to the array of feminine kids shows. As such, most shows under Boycore are from the 2000's and 2010's, particularly Cartoon Network, Disney XD & Nickelodeon shows as well as Shonen anime and manga.

Visuals[]

Boycore features the use of colors such as red, blue, black, green, and metallic grey, as well as patterns such as camo. It also features visuals of gaming, sports (mostly football, basketball, and skating), cars/race cars, animals (particularly predators like lions, wolves, bears, etc.). It will also sometimes feature more gross-out imagery like boogers. Sometimes they'll lean more Frutiger Metro or Urban in their design elements.

Fashion[]

Fashion has a lot of overlap with Bro and features the use of the colors shown above. Fashion is usually seen as a small part of Boycore as clothing was not as important to young boys as it was to girls.

Media[]

Boycore media will feature either "cool" boys (usually skaters) or nerdy boys. In speculative fiction, they will often have superheroes or mythical creatures. A piece of media can fit the aesthetic just by featuring a male main character and/or using aspects that appeal to boys.
