After Hours is an aesthetic inspired from the feeling of eeriness and loneliness from seeing a familiar, or usually populated, setting closed for the night and/or empty. It isn't necessarily sad though, just surreal.

After Hours isn't too defined in terms of media as it is more important on being physically somewhere and feeling the atmosphere for yourself. Although it is photo-centric, a photo isn't the same as being in an empty park. Places that have this vibe are not limited to physical places, an empty server in a game, or an abandoned blog/website can evoke the same feelings .

The most important aspect of After Hours is relaxation. Being comfortable with silence and outside sounds is essential. This is the biggest difference between After Hours and Liminal Space (which is defined by the sense of unease an image can give)

Music

After Hours isn't too music heavy. It relies more on sounds and silence. Things like sprinklers, dogs barking, crickets chirping, lights buzzing, and the wind blowing are good enough on their own. Mellow music without lyrics would be good as it acts more like background music, which makes some music from Vaporwave, Lo-Fi, and Chillwave perfect partners for the After Hours aesthetic

Gallery

After Hours is about scenery. Pictures are usually absent of people, left unfiltered, nighttime, and have some form of harsh light.
