Frutiger Space is a subgenre of Frutiger Aero that lasted throughout all of the Frutiger Aero era (2004-2013), with some rudimentary elements remaining in entertainment media through the rest of the 2010s and into the 2020s. It is characterized by its HD graphics, starry skies, vibrant (but usually mostly monocolored) backgrounds, and occasionally, high-tech settings typically seen in sci-fi media from after the Cold War. It is distinct from earlier outer-space-oriented aesthetics like Space Age or Atompunk because the stars and other elements in the backgrounds can be smaller, more numerous, and/or more detailed while still being easily visible, thanks to the advent of HD visuals and technology, as well as more high-quality movie theaters. It is quite subtly associated with 21st-century tech optimism and the philosophical wonders of outer space. Frutiger Space may also incorporate some extraterrestrial settings, though they're much more subtle and less goofy than the extraterrestrial settings found in space aesthetics from earlier decades. It is also part of the Frutiger Family of aesthetics because it easily meshes with (and is often found alongside) most of the other aesthetics in the family, such as Vectorflourish, Abstract Tech, and Frutiger Aurora.

To me, it's a very high-budget Hollywood blockbuster / high-tech sort of aesthetic.
