I just watched said video bc I was curious, and I do think some of the things being said are a bit biased. The reason I think this is because they claim it was never really a thing, but they didn’t even grow up around the time it was popular (also either way, that’s kind of the whole point of the aesthetic.) FA is supposed to be about “the future that never existed” and how life was seen through the eyes of a child during the boom of technology, even if it wasn’t really how things were
One thing that I kind of agree with though is that a lot of aesthetics on this wiki are pretty convoluted and even redundant at times, but then again, that’s the reason why they’re labeled as sub-genres rather than just stand-alone aesthetics.
Also, the issue with removing all aesthetics formed after the 2000s is that 85% of all aesthetics hadn’t been coined until the past 15 years, even if the aesthetic itself is centuries old (for example, the visuals for Cottagecore have existed for centuries, but the name itself wasn’t coined until around 2020 or so)
Unfortunately I don’t think single-subject aesthetics are allowed on here so it could risk being taken down unless the name were to be changed
If you don’t wanna risk all you’re hard work being removed then I suggest maybe adding it to the personal aesthetics wiki?

@Zazlesynth2 I still feel like it should just be lumped in with the elsagate page as a subgenre rather than being separate since they both share a lot of the same values (plus its not really an aesthetic anyway)

Well, what exactly defines an unrelated post to you? Technically posting art here can be considered related if it was inspired by a certain aesthetic (also aesthetic is a very loose term so there isn’t really a clear line to what is related and what isn’t)
I think it’s nice to be able to express yourself here? Obviously over-posting unrelated things can get pretty annoying for people who wanna discuss aesthetics, but a few unrelated posts here and there are completely fine. Besides, if the guidelines for posting were that strict then the thread wouldn’t be nearly as active
It depends what the aesthetic is, if it has a distinct set of motifs, and you can provide enough evidence of its existence (such as its history and examples in media), then probably yeah, but if there’s not enough info on it (other than photos) or it’s too similar to a preexisting aesthetic then I’d recommend putting it on the personal aesthetics wiki instead!

I love all of these (especially frutiger metro) but I’ll have to go with Frutiger Aero because it’s the classic and already covers pretty much all of these in some capacity (maybe apart from metro tho)
