I have this idea in my head for a genre..
Visuals include modernized British manors, not quite castles but more pre-20th century mansions and estates. Fashion is quite classy but not over the top, not exactly Victorian or Edwardian but has jewlery from those eras, along with quality fabrics in mostly muted colors. Fashion is high-class and muted, but modest. Think dark academia but more mature and classic, as is with most of the aesthetic. It's more centered around family and status than with education. Photos of architecture and color scheme below.
Should this be included in dark academia or should it be considered an aesthetic of its own? I feel it's like if dark academia graduated and had a family in the countryside. Much of this inspiration comes from shows like Haunting of Bly Manor and Hill House, among other haunted mansion movies and shows. In my head, a name for this specific one could be Dark NeoNobility or Vintage Cottagegore (pulling strings in that one). Let me know what you think!
