Has all my favourites ^-^
Rainy day, comfy/cozy for sure
I wouldnt personally call it cottagecore or bloomcore, those tend to focus more on wildflowers and less conventional fashion styles. I would agree with preppy though.
Triggers are often very normal things, such as specific sounds like a doorbell, floorboards squeaking, a certain food or taste or smell associated with a traumatic event. The brain subconciously relates with the thing that hurt them.
Example: pavlovs dogs. The bell is a trigger. If pavlov chose to hurt the dogs when he rang the bell, the bell would cause them to panic rather than to salivate.
I think if you were worried about being called a poser then you should worry less about the specific aesthetic, and more about connecting with the communities . Anyone can do goth style makeup and theres a lot of crossover anyway (gothic metal)
Pastel, morute, the one with poppy is slightly more yamikawaii than morute though
Probably kawaii gamer? not sure how to fit the summery stuff into it though, maybe lofi
Most things are a mix, its not really a suffix, and we dont really accept pages that are explicitly mixes becuase theres infinite variations of them.
Looks like it would fit in a fairygrunge style, but its kinda hard to tell by just the clothing items themselves
Cyberpop, generally, but the character mascot looks to be inspired by 1920's rubber hose animations
I'd say its halfway between softie and pastel egirl.
Not delicate sweet
Would just be americana, no? maybe each of these elements would have its own specific subgenre but all together it would just fit americana in general.
All the ones you listed are your aesthetics. You cant mould your entire life around a single aesthetic, nor is it beneficial to attempt to, especially if you like the range that you do.
Aesthetics shouldn’t be treated like personal lables, they are just there to categorise visual themes.
@Buhers as a counterpoint, everything visual has an aesthetic, its just that some things, like in this case, may just be too niche to have a named aesthetic
Main difference is when and where they were popular, mori girl being japan in the 2000’s, whereas cottagecore is more western and current. Another difference is inspiration or theme, cottagecore being of cottages and mori girl being more forest life oriented. I would say visually, mori girl is a lot more modest, more layering and neutral toned than the brighter, more pastel cottagecore colour scheme. mori girl fabrics are heavier than cottagecore, which is more summery.
Finally, while mori girl is exclusively fashion style, cottagecore is more of a broad aesthetic, including photography and interior design, as well as fashion.
Hope my explanation helps :)
Haha i made two of these, I might be biased
Page obvs needs more work but yeah looks good, probably needs a distinction between 'east asian' and specifically traditional stuff, and specific time periods otherwise stuff like the og blade runner would also technically be silkpunk, which i dont think it is
Nicenice
Ye, cassette futurism, I wrote a page for it :) pretty sure i added formicapunk in the 'other names' section but it doesnt pop up when you search for it :/
Would be nice to add this comic to the media section
