I tried to make an actual heisei retro avatar in Roblox..

Almost everything labeled as heisei retro in Roblox was either:

Juminocore (essentially the westernized, modern heisei retro in TikTok’s hands, which is what I did not want),

A form of Mori kei

Whimsy Twee

or most of all, Igari (which is literally a makeup style, not a fashion or aesthetic.)

It was kinda hard, but here it is..:

From roughly the late 90s to early 00s, adolescent pop music took over both the airwaves and especially MTV. The prime time program that established this aesthetic and trend was TRL, aka Total Request Live, a pop-focused live event program that showcases music trends and top charting singles. The motifs of this trend is 90s bubblegum pop revival first brought in by the group The Spice Girls and later taken up by Boybands and Girl groups with single’s focused pop acts like the blond Pop princesses of 99 (Xtina, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and Anastasia). Certain motifs include: Teen focused pop, girl groups and boybands, teen fan websites/pages, artists usually under 20, popularity of both TRL and 106 & Park, rise of singer based competition reality shows like Pop Idol, Popstars and American Idol, certain controversies surrounding youth based sexuality and the growing influence surrounding alternative music such as Hip-Hop, Nu Metal and Teen Pop Punk. Aesthetic lasted until 2002 with a growing rise of guitar-based alt pop and R&B, ultimately putting the trend to a hold.

I’m trying to look for aesthetics that might match the ones I’m looking for I have 2 ideas for how I want to dress like and how I might be able to get it (it would be really helpful if you guys listed certain brands on aliexpress taobao Amazon depop ect and maybe some stiles and stores like lewkin)

But the first aesthetic is something like this

It’s a very dark and grunge-ish aesthetic but I want some more keywords that “grunge , Y2K, acubi outfit”

And the second one is

A more soft coquettish style with lots of bows , lace , and light colors like blue, pink , and purple if you guys know some small stores or shops (that aren’t SHEIN, temu, dolls kill , holister, macys, or anything like that than I’d like to know) I’m looking for articles of clothing under 60 dollars because clothes like these are really expensive sadly .·°՞(≧□≦)՞°·. If you know some alternative style stores I’d be happy to shop there ! And I might consider stores like yesstyle (please drop the codes for the clothes you’re talking about)because they usually have more fem clothes there and a lot of Korean influencers shop there if there’s some brands I should look out for I’d also like to know because I highly dislike the thought of cheap polyester clothes in my wardrobe and I hate clothes that start pilling easily(because of sensory issues) so if you have any recommendations please comment I’d be happy to have some help

I wished we lived in a simpler decade, and not a decade just like the 2020s.. (Covid, politics, etc.) Such as the 80s or late 90s. Or the 2 better, the 2000s & 2010s. So anyway, that is it. The aesthetics in one of these decades were beautiful & full of charm. The ones in the 2020s were just pure bleak, eyesore-ing, inconsistent & far too simple.

But anyways, that is it.
