There’s this one specific visual style that was popular amongst the grunge/nu metal scene. It was sort of kick-started by bands like Alice In Chains and Soundgarden and continued on into the late 90s and early 2000s with bands like Godsmack and A Perfect Circle. It’s this grungy almost desert-y sort of style, lots of warm colors (mainly orange), and lots of sun-related imagery with an ancient ruined feel too. Here’s some examples.
I’m sure there’s plenty of other media that shares this same style, but as of right now the only other thing I can think of is the music video for In The End for Linkin Park.
