Its a subculture with its main difference being fashion. But also being a sub culture it'll make the experience more fun to get into some of the music, games and shows. The fashion would be the most important part, then the music (because its derived from another music based subculture). That being said, you should also never have to change how you act to fit someone else's idea of an aesthetic 😁 especially one based on being different. So ofcourse its okay
