Can you be a mall goth and listen to trad goth music? I really like mall goth music, but i also enjoy traditional goth rock/post punk (I am a huge fan of the cure) and 80s synth, like Depeche Mode

SAME, DO WHATEVER YOU MUST DO!
Yeah don’t feel pressured to stick to one aesthetic or listen to certain music, aesthetics are just labels anyways
I also think that mall goths nowadays listen to trad goth music because they are well educated thanks to the world wide web. The internet in the 1990s-Early 2000s wasn't as big as it is today
I also like nu goth. I may give it a try. But i wanna ask a question. Is it a clothing type/aesthetic that exists within the goth subculture, like Romantic goth,or a different subculture?
As an ex-mall goth from back in its heyday, yes. Yes you absolutely can. I used to listen to a lot of trad goth music back then.
You were a mall goth in the 2000s? That's so cool!
Yeah. It's kinda weird for me to see it come back into style, but hey... if this means Hot Topic's going back to selling the kinds of clothes they did in the early 2000's (the punk, goth, raver, lounge, etc. stuff) I am fucking HERE for it. There's a reason I've been referred to as an old man around these parts. Lol
The late nineties and the early noughties are making a comeback, hence the Y2K aesthetic.
Oh I know about that, I just didn't expect Mallgoth to be among those things making a comeback as a result of the Y2K resurgence. It really is the alternative scenes that wind up coming back into style.
What do you think?
