I'm not really sure how to word this question, so I'll just go for it.

What happens to academic aesthetics after academia?

For most people the day to day academic life ends and then what? I can't imagine it'd be very healthy to still be dedicated to academics after school/college/University, so where do people go from there?

I guess some aesthetics have very similar non academic aesthetics, but that wouldn't necessarily work for all of them, like horror academia and horror core are very different.
