Because it's still an aesthetic regardless of it being problematic.
is really problematic, they are normalizing real death and calling it "aesthetic"
It def is. After the Holocaust, not only were millions of people suffering, but the entirety of Europe lost the explosion of culture that happened between both World Wars.
Extremely problematic yes.
People who create fashwave content are aware of this and are doing it for shock value or actually agree with the ideologies. Same goes for Nazi chic or schizowave.
As for why its on the wiki, please unlearn that calling something an 'Aesthetic' is a celebration of the subjects, its not, its just an acknowlegement that it has a visual schema. The wiki is a documentation of visual schema.
@Kevaceri true. This is a documentation; the real problem is the people who like romanticizing the issues associated with the aesthetics.
Ok heres my summary on the aesthetic: I believe that Fashwave shoulnd't be on THIS wiki because its mainly associates with different "aesthetics" and fashwave borderline romantisies it which is a BIG problem. Yes, you may document on it when disscusing its problems but should not be considered an aesthetic. this wiki should present a list of problematic aesthetics so it kinda has a use here
EDIT: what if we instead made a wiki specifically for problematic aesthetics?
@Eaoeao2 It's not 'borderline' romanticising it, it is literally created by nazis and alt right.
As for 'it shouldnt be considered an aesthetic', You can't cherrypick what an aesthetic is based on their moral value. There is bad art, there is problematic art, there is art that promotes disgusting ideologies such as nazism.
The wiki already has a disclamer stating that it doesnt endorse it. Creating a new wiki for 'problematic' aesthetics isnt viable becuase
1.) what is problematic is subjective,
2.) A lot of very popular aesthetics can be classed as problematic without needing to be entirely abandoned, for example, cottagecore, goblincore, weirdcore, most academia aesthetics, most alt aesthetics, etc, those are just the more popular ones but you get the idea.
What do you mean its problematic? all its doing is celebrating the nazis and we all know they never did anything wrong to anyone. its totally not problematic nonon not at all
@Khown I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here or if you're a Neo-Nazi please clarify
@Khown i really hope you're being sarcastic please use tone tags for this kind of thing
What do you think?
