Every time people ask what my aesthetic is, I can’t tell them anything because I literally cannot find my aesthetic. I don’t even have a favourite colour, it’s weird. Can you guys tell maybe how you found your aesthetic so I have ideas?

I've gone on various internet-rabbit holes and discovered different aesthetics that I like. I think that exploring the Wiki is a pretty good starting point . . . clicking on random pages, scrolling around, seeing what pops up / catches your eye.
I'd suggest searching different things that you like on the Wiki and seeing if anybody's put them down on an aesthetic page.
Also, you don't have to have an aesthetic (or just one aesthetic! I have plenty...). Most people are a mix of aesthetics and don't fit neatly into one box.
I was always interested in Japanese culture, especially J-Fashion. I loved kawaii, lolita, decora and things like that. But I also grew up watching Tim Burton movies, and my mom was a huge fan of weird somewhat gothic things.
I liked both things.
Time skip to idk how long, and one of my friend told me about a My Hero Academia animation using the song Rolling Girl. I wanted to know what it said, so I found an English cover. The lyrics made me feel a way I can't really explain, but I felt like I was noticed in a way. It explained something I had bottled up for a long time, and I just had to find more things like that. I eventually found an Akidearest video about sad VOCALOID songs. I had known what VOCALOID was, but never really tried getting into it. But after I saw Aki's video and listened to the songs I felt like I had to get into it.
This community was just so welcoming, and I found songs that I could relate to.
I was getting into it slowly, and then I heard the song Echo.
That made me really want to get into VOCALOID even faster, so I tried a lot harder to get into it.
That will be important for later.
One day I was watching fashion videos and a video called something along the lines of
"The dark side of Harajuku". It looked interesting so I watched it, and it was about something called Yami Kawaii, and it looked very interesting. Basically you combine elements of sickness with elements of cute. People used this aesthetic to cope with their own mental struggles.
I started getting more and more into it to try coping through my own struggles with drawing characters inspired by the aesthetic. I already knew a lot of the songs that were in Yami-Kawaii playlists from being into VOCALOID.
This lead me to having some of my favorite current artists.
Yami-Kawaii is an aesthetic made for you to cope with your own struggles, so that's what I did and what I do.
Since Yami-Kawaii is very similar to Pastel Goth, I also fall under that. I combined the creepy and the cute, and boom pastel goth.
I'd say gurokawa too, because I also like to draw that.
All in all, my aesthetic is a mix of the scary things and cute things in life.
I am still growing, and exploring my aesthetic so it most likely will change. But this is how I am now.
Hello! We have this page: https://aesthetics.fandom.com/wiki/Helping_You_Find_Your_Aesthetic But for me personally, just pursue whatever makes your heart go "!!!" I am on tumblr a lot, and when I was younger, I found Dark Academia before it was called Dark Academia and pinkblr. 8tracks also gave me a feel for aesthetics, and I got into the folk-indie, foresty sound, electroswing, and Gravity Falls-themed playlists with cheerful 80s-esque indie pop. During this time, I also went on Polyvore (back when it was still alive) and found J-fashion outfits, things like Axes Femme and F.i.n.t., but I didn't know where they came from at the time. This was by accidentally finding trending images. Having a feel for these two aesthetics, I later got on Pinterest, where I just looked up generic terms like "lace," "roses," etc. and got the algorithm to work it out for me. That was when I learned the word "Lolita" from the magazines that would show up,
This led to blogs, which led me to the Lolita community, which gave me a sense of who I was. Meanwhile, I was on aesthetic tumblr and reblogged lots of fandom moodboards and the like. Reddit was also helpful. I read lots of FemaleFashionAdvice posts. In 2020, Cottagecore blew up, and I found myself here after researching what it was
What do you think?
